Drove straight up to a trail for some hiking. Found this uprooted tree near the 1st trail.

Love the sound of a creek.
America's National Forests are the best kept secrets...also free!
Golden Mushrooms! Fantastic color in the sunlight
More shrooms! They were everywhere.

Adam and Gob move ahead through the trees.
Gotta keep up with that little man.
Taking a break.
Happy to be back out in the elements together
Here comes a biker! There were many zooming along this trail
Amazing trees.
Desktop Wallpaper?
Crazy wood formation and the brilliant green moss
Not really sure what this is, but it was off trail in the middle of the forest.
Heading deeper..
Taking a break at another stream.
Adam examining rocks in the stream.
Seemed like millions of little flies all around
Looking back at Breckenridge Peak #8.
Gob and Megan working some off leash training in the mountains.
Aspens
Fall is definitely in full swing.
Some more off leash training, pretty proud of our pup
A mushroom with some turquoise coloration.
Hiking, Gob doing a great job off leash.
Beautiful bright yellow tree....just beginning to see those fall colors
I found a good stick on the hike and used it as my hiking stick. It's common practice to leave the stick near the trailhead when you finish for others to enjoy.
Breckenridge Base Camp. Under construction..
Amazing fall colors on the Aspens.
Main Street, Breckenridge.
Adam looking down the Blue River in Breckenridge.
So the Breckenridge Festival of Film was in town. Light crowd at this event..
Schedule of the festival
Happy couple again posing on a bridge over the Blue River.
Great spot for relaxing.
A nice Grilled BLT salad to share for a snack.
Also a pint of 90 Shilling and a Riesling at Modis.
Stopped in the Gold Pan Saloon to wet our whistle.
Awesome Ski Chair. Want one of these.
Park along the river, scenic surroundings.

Goat Cheese Risotto and Creamed Spinach
We need some more red in this picture..
The next morning the weather was a bit different.
Heading up to our next trail head. Rain gear..check..
The trailhead starts at an old mining dredge. Nature has taken its course and turned the pit into a pond.
Heading up the trailing piles of rocks towards the mountains.
This entire valley was basically a mountain wetland.
Crossing the bridge.
Looking back.
Looking across the valley at Breckenridge.
Heading up Horseshoe Gulch Trail.
Vegetation up the slope...Mei really liked that lone tree.
"Gob...Gob...GOB!" More off leash training
Heading up a bend.
Same bend, with a small valley creek below.
Excellent rock face definitely worthy of a climb in the future.
Around the bend this view appears.
Weary hikers posing in between rain showers. When the sun is out its comfortable. As soon as its blocked by clouds the mountain chill sets in.
Adam and his best buddy heading back.
Colors! The water was a beautiful combination of blues and greens...Mei loved that!
C'mon Gob! He probably tried to take a leak 100 times. He produced something about 10 times..
Adam always has his rock hammer in hand.
Happy Hiker!
When we got back to the trail head a shower had moved in and the sun shone through behind us. Look at the color of that water.
We had a fantastic time heading deeper into the Rockies. Several inches of snow fell in these areas only six hours after we headed back to Denver. We will be back soon!
